Winter passes by really quick!

4 mai 2009 par Lovisa

Hey again!

It was a long time since I wrote something here, sorry but this winter just passed by so quick! It was a great winter though. We had lots of snow and its stayed cold almost all the way to the end…being Swedish I like it when the snow is compact and the thermometer shows minus 0 degrees :)

BS 180 in the little park in Avoriaz

Rock to fakie in  the Stash, Avoriaz

I hade some good freeriding Avoriaz this winter and the park and halfpipe was in exelent conditions. As always I spent most my of my time in the pipe, as you might see on the shots. I did get some competions done and got a 7th place in the Frensh cup and 4th in the Swedish championship.

FS Indy in the Avoriaz pipe

This year I also got a new experience, a night shoot in the pipe. It was well scary since we only had light on the spot we where going to hit and had to drop in in the dark. I’m still waiting for the photos, but will publish them here later.

BS method Avoriaz pipe

Now Avoriaz and most of the resorts are closed, but the pipe is still in place in Avoriaz so we took the car up yesterday and did some hits. It was lots of fun!!

Now I’m looking forward to the opening of Les 2 Alps summer riding and you can be sure to see me there on the opening day!! =)

Me, Lovisa Myhrman

Ok, so this is the first time I’m writing on this blog. It’s a snowstorm outside and the mountain is closed. No riding today so it’s a perfect day to start blogging. =)

Who am I then? My name is Lovisa Myhrman and I’m a Swedish girl living in France. I work as a teacher in Geneva and my home resort is Avoriaz. I’ve been riding for 12 years now and five of those years has been in Avoriaz. I used to ride in the Grand Massif but moved to Avoriaz because of their exelent pipe and parks.

I have to be honest with you from the start, I’m a true and dedicated pipe-rat. There is not much that can keep me away from the good pipe in Avoriaz, maybe a really good powder day. I have been competing for 10 years. Last year was my first time on the World cup, but I have been competing on an international level before, on the TTR circuit.

So why I’m I writing on this blog? I’ve been riding for Völkl for 5 years. My first year was on the national team and then I got picked up on to the international Pro-sistaz team. I rode international for 4 years and now I’m back on the  national team again. I love Völkl boards and they have really helped me to develope my level of riding. Right now I’m riding the female jib board « Impress ». It’s a really good park board, it’s super light and easy to handle. It has an amazing flex and a really cool design. It’s been specially developed by Claudia Fliri, Vökls top female rider.

Now its time to sleep so I can rise and shine tomorrow, which should be an amazing powder day. Enjoy the snow until the next time!!!!
